K.J. Maye

School: Minnesota
Position: WR
Positive: Moved into the starting lineup as a senior then posted career totals of 73 receptions, 773 yards and 5 TDs. Experienced punt and kick returner. Undersized but tremendously quick skill prospect that's effective in a variety of roles. Displays good awareness, comes back to the ball to make himself an available target then looks the pass into his hands. Runs sharp routes quickly getting into breaks and stays low on exit. To his credit catches the ball with his hands, adjusting to the errant throw and making a lot of athletic or difficult receptions. Plays smart, heads-up football, effective on reverses and also gives effort blocking downfield.
Negative: Small, struggles handling jams at the line scrimmage and needs open space releasing off the snap. Loses out in battles. More quick than fast and not a vertical threat.
Analysis: Maye watched his game take off last season and will have a role as a slot receiver on Sunday if he produces returning punts and kicks this summer.
