Johnny Holton

School: Cincinnati
Position: WR
Positive: Junior-college transfer who posted 17 catches and 461 yards receiving with 5 scores in eight games last season, missing time with a leg injury. Nice sized pass catcher with a developing game. Plays with balance, body control and effectively tracks the pass in the air. Adjusts to the errant throw, makes the difficult catch in contorted positions and displays soft hands with the ability to snatch the ball from the air. Effectively times receptions, has a smooth style and somewhat elusive running after the catch. Works hard to come back to the ball and make himself an available target.
Negative: More of a one speed wide out and lacks a burst. Does not always win out in battles as he should. Has a thin body of work.
Analysis: Holton offers good size as well as pass catching ability and is worth the investment of a late round choice with the thought process of developing him for the future.
