Ryan O'Malley

School: Penn
Position: TE
Positive: Three-year starter who posted career totals of 20 receptions, 202 yards and 3 TDs as a senior. Small school college tight end in an offensive lineman's body. Sets with a wide base, displays vision and attacks blocking assignments. Sized well, stays square and anchors in pass protection. Keeps his head on a swivel, plays with a nasty attitude and quickly gets out to the 2nd level, getting a pad on linebackers and disrupting their angle of attack. Solid job catching the ball when it's thrown in his direction.
Negative: One speed tight end with average quickness. Not a natural knee bender and shows stiffness in his game.
Analysis: O'Malley stood out in his role as a blocking tight end in the Ivy League and could do much the same at the next level if he learns to play with proper pad level.
