Jake McGee

School: Florida
Position: TE
Positive: Virginia transfer awarded all-Conference honors as a senior after finishing with 41 receptions, 381 yards and 4 TDs. Suffered a significant leg injury during the 2014 opener and missed the entire campaign. Tough, intelligent tight end with good size. Flashes athleticism, gets vertical and competes to come away with the reception. Plays heads-up football and works back to the quarterback or into the clearing to make himself an available target. Extends his hands, displays outstanding focus and consistently comes away with the difficult catch. Nicely adjusts to the errant throw and makes the reception in contorted positions. Gives great effort as a blocker, strong and controls opponents at the line of scrimmage.
Negative: One speed tight end and not a true downfield threat. Lacks great bulk for a blocking tight end.
Analysis: McGee is consistent in all areas yet special in none. His intelligence, intensity and work ethic could help him catch on as the 3rd tight end for an NFL team.
