Sean Davis

School: Maryland
Position: S
Positive: Four-year starter that's lined up at both cornerback and safety. Junior season included a career-best 115 tackles. Versatile defensive back best facing the action. Tough run defender who quickly makes his way up the field then squares into ball handlers. Quick transitioning off the line in coverage, runs downfield with opponents and positions himself to defend or intercept the pass. Quickly pedals in reverse, has a burst to the ball out of his plant and solid closing speed. Good range with the ability to get outside the numbers to make plays.
Negative: Struggles finding the ball in the air. Late getting his head back around. All too often makes plays after-the-fact. Shows indecision in coverage.
Analysis: Davis was super productive on the college level but has limitations to his game. Best facing the action, he offers potential as a dime back at safety or as a zone corner.
