RJ Williamson

School: Michigan State
Position: S
Positive: Two-year starter who posted 24 tackles in 5 games last season, missing the majority of the year with a bicep injury. Junior totals included a career-best 59 tackles and 3 interceptions. Tough, run defending safety with good size. Displays a good head for the ball, explosive and flashes on the scene. Keeps the action front of him, quick up the field and possesses a closing burst. Displays better than average range, shows ability lining up over the slot receiver and rarely makes mental errors.
Negative: Moderately productive in college. Development was stunted by injury last season. Lacks recovery and long speed.
Analysis: Williamson is a well-rounded defensive back best as a traditional strong safety or in a zone system. If he rebounds from his injury and continues to progress Williamson could be a significant contributor at the next level.
