Peni Vea

School: UNLV
Position: S
Positive: Three-year starter who finished with 80 tackles last season. Career-best 108 tackles came during his sophomore season. Nice sized safety best playing downhill. Relatively instinctive, quick up the field and a tough run defender. Takes good angles the action, uses his hands to protect himself and remains disciplined with assignments. Displays good range and the ability to get outside the numbers.
Negative: Does not play to his 40 time and shows just a short burst on the field. Possesses average ball skills and put up the destiny and production in coverage.
Analysis: Vea is a nice sized defensive back who performed brilliantly during pro-day workouts but is yet to transfer that athleticism onto the field. He's a one-dimensional safety who must improve his play against the pass to make a roster at the next level.
