Jordan Lomax

School: Iowa
Position: S
Positive: Two-year starter who finished with 96 tackles last season while breaking up 6 passes. Short but explosive safety coming off a disappointing campaign. Plays heads-up football, flies around the field and a fierce hitter. Explosive, jars the ball loose from opponents and plays through the whistle. Instinctive, effectively diagnoses the action and possesses a closing burst. Displays good sideline to sideline range with the ability to get outside the numbers and make plays. Displays a lot of suddenness in his game and flashes on the scene. Plays much faster than his 40 time.
Negative: Seemed to struggle last year getting caught up the field and out of the position more than usual. Loses transitioning to turn to run with opponents in man coverage. Average production against the pass.
Analysis: Lomax was highly rated coming into his senior campaign yet fell short of expectations. He's a safety in the mold of former Hawkeye Bob Sanders and offers starting potential at the next level if he gets his game back on track.
