Deon Bush

School: Miami-Fl
Position: S
Positive: Full-time starter the past two seasons, breaking up 6 passes as a senior after career-best 53 tackles the prior year. Underrated safety prospect with terrific size and skill. Effectively recognizes the action, stays with assignments and does not have breakdowns in judgment. Works hard, takes good angles to the action and very aggressive. Hard hitter, attacks ball handlers and gives effort defending the run. Covers a lot of area on the field showing speed in both a straight line as well as laterally and has a closing burst to the play. Keeps the action in front of him and shows a degree of suddenness in his game.
Negative: Struggles staying with receivers on crossing patterns. Average ball skills. Ducks his head and hits rather than wrapping up and tackling.
Analysis: Bush has been a solid player at Miami the past three seasons and has the ability to line up as either a traditional strong safety or in a zone system on Sunday.
