Rodney Mills

School: UMass
Position: RB
Positive: Part-time starter the past three seasons primarily lining up at tight end. Bends his knees, plays with leverage and a terrific pass catcher out of the backfield. Uses his frame to shield away opponents, adjusts to the errant throw and makes the reception with his frame. Fires off the snap into blocks, explosive at the point of attack and displays good blocking strength.
Negative: Does not possess the size for a tight end or fullback and lacks the ball carrying skills to be a running back. Marginally productive in college.
Analysis: Mills was a reliable college player who does the little things well yet may not have a true position in the NFL. His pass catching skill and willingness to block could help him earn a spot in a West Coast system if he plays well on special teams.
