Jake Coker

School: Alabama
Position: QB
Positive: Posted career totals of 3110 yards passing and 21 TDs as a senior when he completed 66.9% of his throws. Somewhat inconsistent signal caller coming off a career season. Patient, stands strong in the pocket and scans the field. Takes a big hit in order to get the throw away and shows a degree of quickness in his game. Effectively sets up screen passes, easily gets outside the pocket to throw on the move and does a nice job locating the open wide out. Goes to check down receivers if nothing else is available. Puts air under deep passes, displays good speed on throws and keeps his eyes down the field.
Negative: Inconsistent in his decision-making. Must do a better job anticipating throws. Must improve his overall accuracy and pass placement. Does not react well under pressure.
Analysis: Coker is a physically gifted signal caller who displayed a lot of inconsistency in his game prior to last season. He offers next level potential but must improve his reads and decision-making before he'll ever see time under center in the NFL.
