Josh Woodrum

School: Liberty
Position: QB
Positive: Four-year starter awarded all-Conference honors since his sophomore season. Senior totals included 2772 yards rushing and 12 TDs on 62.1% passing. Strong-armed passer with size and pocket presence. Patient, effectively commands the offense and keeps his eyes downfield. Stands strong against the run, shakes off defenders and improvises when plays breakdown. Sells ball fakes, effectively reads the defense and throws with an over-the-top delivery. Puts speed on all throws, powers the ball into targets and puts the deep pass in front of receivers. Effectively sets up screen throws, quickly gets the ball out of his hands and loses nothing throwing on the move.
Negative: Rarely lines up under center. Must improve his pass placement. Consistently has receivers adjusting backwards or slowing in routes to make the reception.
Analysis: Woodrum is a skilled signal caller with a good amount of upside potential but a passer that must improve his mechanics. He's a practice squad prospect with potential as a 3rd signal caller on Sunday.
