Brandon Doughty

School: Western Kentucky
Position: QB
Positive: Three-year starter who amassed 5055 yards passing and 48 TDs last season, when he completed 71.9% of his throws. Junior totals included 4830 yards passing and 49 TDs. Conference USA Most Valuable Player of the Year in 2015. Record-breaking college quarterback with limited next level potential. Displays excellent vision, plays smart football and does not have lapses in judgment. Senses the rush, knows what's happening on the field and finds the open wide out. Relatively accurate and does not make receivers work hard for the reception. Goes to check down targets, puts air under deep passes and always working to make positive plays.
Negative: Lacks a quick release and late on throws. Stares down the primary target on occasion. Lacks a big arm, cannot drive passes downfield and loses steam on the ball throwing on the move. Really won't pick up yardage with his legs.
Analysis: Doughty was a high percentage passer on the college level who amassed tremendous statistics but lacks the size and arm strength to be anything other than the 3rd man on the depth chart come Sunday.
