Jatavis Brown

School: Akron
Position: OLB
Positive: Three-year starter awarded all-Conference honors since his sophomore season. Undersized but explosive one gap linebacker who makes plays in every direction. Quick and covers a tremendous amount of area going sideline to sideline. Breaks down well, slides off blocks and plays with balance. Quick to the action, fast pursuing laterally and nicely redirects to the ball handler. Breaks down well and uses his hands to protect himself. Gives effort and plays bigger than his listed size.
Negative: Gets caught up in the trash or easily blocked from the action. Disrupted from his angle of attack by opposing tight ends. Lacks growth potential.
Analysis: Brown was a productive linebacker for Akron but has size limitations and is a scheme specific defender that must do well on special teams to have a career in the NFL.
