David Perkins

School: Illinois State
Position: OLB
Positive: Two-year starter who began his college career at Ohio State. Senior totals included 69 tackles and 8.5 sacks. Undersized college defensive end with the ability to transition to outside linebacker on Sunday. Smooth moving about the field, fluid changing direction and plays with balance and body control. Displays a closing burst, gets a lot of momentum moving up the field and quickly locates the ball handler. Resilient, works to finish plays and stays with assignments. Quickly gets down the line scrimmage in pursuit and shows ability dropped off the line of scrimmage playing in space.
Negative: Lacks bulk, playing strength and easily controlled at the point by a single blocker. Shows hesitation in his game.
Analysis: Perkins is a solid athlete who was miscast on the college level at defensive end. He projects as a developmental linebacker prospect.
