Micah Awe

School: Texas Tech
Position: ILB
Positive: All-Conference selection as a senior totaling a career-best 126 tackles. Small but explosive linebacker best in pursuit. Plays with an aggressive style, takes good angles to the action and covers a lot of area on the field. Quickly gets outside the numbers to cut off the corners, displays outstanding lateral speed and runs opponents down from the backside. Gets depth on pass drops, shows ability in zone coverage and quick closing to the action. Squares and wraps up tackling.
Negative: Struggles bringing opponents down at the point of attack. Easily blocked from the action. Average ball production in coverage.
Analysis: Awe has been dismissed by scouts as he lacks the next level measurables yet was a college linebacker who constantly made plays on the ball. He's a scheme specific defender who could help out on special teams.
