Jovan Santos-Knox

School: UMass
Position: ILB
Positive: Two-year starter who posted 131 tackles as a senior after career-best 143 during his junior campaign. Hard-working, two down linebacker that makes a lot of tackles on the field. Breaks down well, uses his hands to protect himself and shows good awareness. Effectively diagnoses the action, quickly locates the ball handler and sells out to make plays. Shows a burst to the action and quickly moves up field defending the run.
Negative: Displays limited long speed, ineffective in pursuit and plays with marginal strength. Gets caught up in the trash or easily knocked from the action by the first block.
Analysis: Santos-Knox was a productive run defending linebacker on the college level but has limited size/speed numbers for the NFL.
