Joshua Perry

School: Ohio State
Position: ILB
Positive: Three-year starter who finished with a career-best 105 tackles as a senior. Hard-working linebacker best facing the action. Scrapes well laterally, rarely off his feet and wraps up tackling. Resilient, works hard to get off blocks and stays with the action. Breaks down well, effectively uses his hands to shed blocks and explosive at the point of attack. Plays heads-up football, sells out on the blitz and gets depth on pass drops.
Negative: Hesitant to react on occasion. Bites on ball fakes. Does a lot of face guarding in downfield coverage.
Analysis: Perry was a productive linebacker for Ohio State and is a terrific run defender who also shows skill in zone coverage. He's unpolished with his instincts and may struggle in a complex defense yet in the right system could develop into a starter.
