Ted Karras

School: Illinois
Position: G
Positive: Four-year starter who spent the majority of his career at right guard. Nasty, small area blocker with limited upside. Sets with a wide base, keeps his feet moving and works his hands throughout the action. Plays with proper pad level, stays square and looks to hit multiple defenders off a single snap. Explosive at the point, out positions opponents from the action and opens up running lanes. Displays violent punch with his hands and the ability to knock defenders from the action.
Negative: Not quick or smooth pulling across the line of scrimmage or blocking in motion. Struggles redirecting to linebackers on the second level. Lacks footwork in space. Shows stiffness in his game which hurts his ability to finish blocks.
Analysis: Karras is a smart and tough lineman with nice size yet limited in the types of schemes he will be effective in.
