Jonathan Burgess

School: Liberty
Position: G
Positive: Three-year starter awarded all-Conference honors since his sophomore season and named to numerous All-America teams as a senior. Athletic zone blocking guard effective in motion. Starts with proper pad level, fires into blocks and stays square at the point of attack. Remains disciplined with assignments, strong and jolts defenders with violent hand punch. Quick pulling across the line of scrimmage, moves well on his feet and plays with a nasty attitude. Easily gets out to the 2nd level or even the secondary and removes defenders from the action.
Negative: Needs to improve the strength of his base. Rarely finishes blocks. Must improve his blocking balance.
Analysis: Burgess lacks next level height but has enough skill and athleticism to get consideration as a backup in a zone blocking system.
