Darius Johnson

School: Middle Tennessee
Position: G
Positive: Four-year starter who was limited to six games last season after suffering a stress fracture in his leg. Nice sized blocker who flashes athleticism. Quickly sets up off the snap, gets his hands into opponents and controls them at the point of attack. Patient, bends his knees and stays square. Keeps his feet and hands active throughout the action, effective in pass protection and displays the ability to slide out off the edge. Quick out to the 2nd level, can adjust and shows skill blocking in motion.
Negative: Doesn't finish blocks. Occasionally overextends in pass protection. Coming off a serious leg injury.
Analysis: Johnson is a college tackle who projects to guard at the next level and is a prospect much more athletic than his computer numbers would lend one to believe. He offers possibilities in a variety of systems and could make a next level roster if he gets back to health then improves his finishing strength.
