Christian Westerman

School: Arizona State
Position: G
Positive: Two-year starter began his career at Auburn. All-Conference selection as a senior. Strong, nasty blocker with a well-rounded game. Stays square, fights throughout the action and turns defenders from the play. Gets movement run blocking, anchors in pass protection and controls defenders at the point of attack. Relatively quick if asked to pull across the line scrimmage and shows ability blocking on the 2nd level. Explosive in all his actions.
Negative: Does not drive defenders from the line run blocking. Struggles with his balance. Not a true zone blocking lineman.
Analysis: Westerman was a consistent lineman for Arizona State the past two seasons and showed progress in his game. He comes with nice size, offers growth potential as well as the ability to line up in a variety of blocking schemes.
