Sheldon Day

School: Notre Dame
Position: DT
Positive: Three-year starter who finished with career totals of 45 tackles, 15.5 tackles for loss and 4 sacks as a senior when he also added 13 quarterback hurries. Smallish but fiercely competitive defensive line prospect who makes a lot of plays on the ball. Breaks down well, plays with proper pad level and effectively uses his hands. Fluid if asked to twist or stunt, moves well to every area of the field and always on balance. Displays a good change of direction and possesses a closing burst. Fires off the snap with a terrific first step, gets a lot of momentum going up the field and stays with assignments.
Negative: Average pass rusher and struggles bending off the edge. Lacks size, bulk and easily out positioned by opponents.
Analysis: Day is a hard-working and competitive defensive line prospect who gets the most from his ability. He has size limitations but offers possibilities as a three technique tackle and an occasional two gap end.
