Pio Vatuvei

School: Louisville
Position: DT
Positive: Two-year starter who finished with 26 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss and one sack last season. Undersized and underrated three technique tackle prospect. Fires off the snap with a quick first step, fluid getting down the line scrimmage and shows speed in pursuit. Agile, easily moves about the field and shows a lot of explosion in his game. Bends his knees, plays with proper pad level and effectively works his hands to protect himself. Does not give up on plays.
Negative: Short, lacks bulk and easily controlled at the point by a single blocker or engulfed by opponents. Marginally productive in college.
Analysis: Vatuvei is an explosive defensive tackle prospect who makes plays up the field or outside the box. He needs to improve his playing strength but his quickness, movement skills and burst should get him notice in camp this summer.
