Mehdi Abdesmad

School: Boston College
Position: DT
Positive: Former offensive lineman who posted 49 tackles, 15 tackles for loss and 5.5 sacks as a senior. Missed the majority of the 2013 and 2014 campaigns with a knee injury. Tall, relatively athletic defensive lineman still learning the position. Bends his knees, plays with consistent leverage and quickly gets his hands into defenders. Flashes power and shows an array of moves getting off blocks. Possesses a solid change of direction with the ability to get down the line in pursuit of the action. Offers a good amount of growth potential.
Negative: Not much of an edge rusher. Gets tall as the play proceeds and makes himself an easy target for opponents. Inconsistent quickness off the snap.
Analysis: Abdesmad flashed next level abilities the past two seasons and is a solid developmental to prospect who should get late round consideration.
