Josh Tupou

School: Colorado
Position: DT
Positive: Junior totals of 2014 included 42 tackles and 3 tackles for loss. Did not play for Colorado last season. Formerly highly rated defensive line prospect with NFL size and explosion. Plays with good knee bend, keeps his pads low to the ground and fires off the snap with a quick first step. Stays with assignments, quickly locates the ball and works hard to make plays. Keeps his feet and hands active throughout the action and shows the ability to slide down the line of scrimmage in pursuit of the play.
Negative: Ineffective pass rusher. Possesses more of a short burst which he cannot sustain.
Analysis: Entering the year Tupou was graded as a draftable player but left Colorado after being arrested for assault, charges which were eventually dropped. He possesses the size and underlying athleticism to line up in a variety of one gap one or two gap systems and could make a Sunday roster if he gets his game back on track.
