Hershey Walton

School: Temple
Position: DT
Positive: Three-year starter who finished with 33 tackles and 5.5 tackles for loss last season. Tough, nasty defensive line prospect with an underrated game. Fires off the snap, displays good lateral movement skills and the ability to pursue down the line of scrimmage then outside the box to make plays. Strong in his lower body, bull rushes blockers off the line of scrimmage and tough to move off the point. Easily occupies the gaps and plays through the whistle.
Negative: Must improve his hand technique and learn to quickly disengage from blocks. Shows an average closing burst. Average production the past three years.
Analysis: Walton is an underrated athlete with a solid game and a defensive lineman who makes plays that don't always show up on the stat sheet. He offers possibilities as a conventional tackle or on the nose at the next level and could turn into one of the steals from this year's draft.
