Cory Johnson

School: Kentucky
Position: DT
Positive: Junior-college transfer who rotated with the first team as a senior, finishing with 67 tackles, 8 tackles for loss and 2 sacks. Wide bodied defensive tackle who plays with a nice degree of athleticism. Very quick with his hands, plays with proper pad level and tough to move off the point. Occupies blockers allowing teammates to make plays on the ball or slices between double-team blocks to make plays behind the line of scrimmage. Easily changes direction, quick with his hands and strong at the point.
Negative: Minimally productive until last season. Average instincts and slow to react. Must be quicker disengaging from blocks.
Analysis: Johnson has the size to play at the next level and showed Sunday skill as a senior at Kentucky. He offers an upside and should be stashed on a practice squad where he can continue to develop his game.
