Alonzo Williams

School: Texas A&M
Position: DT
Positive: Three-year starter who posted a career-best 57 tackles as a junior. Nice sized defensive tackle prospect coming off a disappointing senior campaign. Quick off the snap, explosive at the point and shows a good degree of athleticism in his game. Battles hard, chases the action and plays faster than his 40 time. Quickly gets back to balance off the initial hit, keeps his feet and hands active throughout the play and displays a short burst.
Negative: Controlled at the point by a single blocker. Looked more like a gap occupier last season.
Analysis: Prior to his senior season Williams was an interior lineman who attracted a lot of attention, making plays on the ball or occupying blockers which allowed teammates to make the tackle. He offers size, growth potential and the ability to be used as a backup in a variety of systems if he returns to prior playing form.
