Kevin Peterson

School: Oklahoma State
Position: CB
Positive: Three-year starter who posted a career-best 59 tackles, 2 INT's and 11 PBUs as a junior. Adequately sized corner best facing the action. Quick flipping his hips transitioning off the line, effectively times his pass defenses and plays heads-up football. Physical, throws his body around the field to make the stop and works hard to get involved in the play. Quick up the field defending the run and battles throughout the action. Displays good route recognition in zone coverage, has a burst to the ball out of his plant and stays on the receivers hip out of breaks or on crossing patterns.
Negative: Hesitates as receivers release off the line scrimmage and usually finds himself a half step behind opponents. Slow getting his head back around to locate the pass in man coverage. Not a big or sturdy cornerback.
Analysis: Peterson was a consistent cornerback at Oklahoma State the three years he started and offers ability in dime packages.
