Frankie Williams

School: Purdue
Position: CB
Positive: Three-year starter awarded all-Conference honors the past two seasons. Posted 47 tackles, 3 INT's and 7 PBU's a senior. Short but explosive corner with solid ball skills. Works to jam opponents at the line scrimmage, stays on the receivers hip out of breaks and quickly locates the ball in the air. Effectively reads the receivers eyes then gets his head back around to make plays on the ball. Quick up the field to defend screen passes and wraps up tackling.
Negative: Slow transitioning with opponents off the snap of the ball and often finds himself playing catch-up. Lacks the recovery speed to make up for mistakes. Easily tied up by blocks.
Analysis: Williams was a consistent force on the college level but lacks size and closing speed for the next level. He could find a home as a dime back if he plays well on special teams this summer.
