Ian Hamilton

School: UTEP
Position: WR
Bio: Junior-college transfer who started the past two seasons and totaled 23 receptions, 500 yards and 2 TDs as a senior.
Positive: Big-bodied possession receiver with an inconsistent game. Uses his frame to shield away defenders, makes the difficult catch in traffic and nicely adjusts to errant throws. Displays a sense of timing on passes, extends and consistently makes receptions away from his frame. Gives effort blocking downfield.
Negative: Lacks naturally soft hands and drops a lot of catchable throws. Not quick releasing off the line of scrimmage and shows little in the way of a downfield burst. Minimally productive on the college level.
Analysis: Hamilton is a physical presence who comes with upside. He needs work on his overall game but his size and the ability shown in the past makes him worth considering on a practice squad.
