Deon Long

School: Maryland
Position: WR
Bio: Junior-college transfer who posted 51 receptions, 575 receiving yards and 2 TDs last season.
Positive: Tough, hard-working receiver with an underrated game. Quick in all aspects, runs solid routes and separates from opponents. Uses his frame to protect the ball, lays out or exposes himself and takes a big hit in order to come away with receptions. Gets up high in a crowd and comes away with the contested pass. Keeps the play in bounds running after the catch and works to pick up positive yardage. Plays with excellent balance and body control. Consistent hand catcher and makes receptions away from his frame. Gives effort blocking.
Negative: Has an injury history. Not a big-bodied receiver. Does not play to his 40 time.
Analysis: Long was a consistent threat at Maryland and is a solid prospect with a good amount of upside, offering enough ability to make a roster as a fourth receiver.
