Anthony Johnson

School: West Texas A&M
Position: WR
Bio: Northern Illinois transfer who finished with 45 receptions for 673 yards and 4 TDs as a senior. Missed four games due to academic misconduct. Junior numbers included 87/1294/14.
Positive: Quick, fluid pass catcher with reliable hands. Smooth, uses his frame to shield away defenders or protect the pass and extends to pluck the ball from the air. Displays focus, concentration and makes a lot of difficult receptions. Quickly gets into breaks, runs sharp routes and stays low on exit. Gets vertical and competes to come away with the reception. Nicely times receptions and looks the ball into his hands.
Negative: Does not display naturally soft hands. A bit of a long strider and lacks the second gear. Has a thin frame and will struggle handling jams at the next level.
Analysis: Johnson is a good-looking athlete that was very productive on the small school level. He offers possibilities as a fifth receiver if he shows well on special teams this summer.
