Amari Cooper

School: Alabama
Position: WR
Bio: Three-year starter awarded varying degrees of All-America and All-conference honors since his freshman season. Totals last season included career numbers of 124 receptions, 1727 yards and 16 TDs.
Positive: Game-changing receiver with natural pass-catching skills. Quick off the snap into routes, comes back to the ball and extends his hands making receptions away from his frame. Agile, easily adjusts to errant throws and plays with tremendous balance as well as body control. Displays terrific timing and anticipation, gets vertical to high point the throw and grabs passes from the air. Shows great coordination, focus and natural in all his skills. Keeps his eye on the ball, makes the difficult catch in the middle of the crowd and snatches passes from the air. Does a tremendous job finding the soft spot in the defense, keeps the play in bounds and displays terrific skill running after the catch. Breaks arm tackles running after the catch, follows blocks and consistently picks up positive yardage.
Negative: Must sharpen his route running. Lacks the true second gear and deep burst.
Analysis: Cooper makes it look effortless and consistently found ways to produce despite the fact he is often double teamed. He's not a true deep threat but possesses the skill and athleticism to line up as a #1 receiver for a variety of offensive schemes and can be deadly running after the catch.
