Maxx Williams

School: Minnesota
Position: TE
Bio: Part-time starter the past two seasons. Posted a team leading 36 receptions, 569 yards and 8 TDs last year.
Positive: Large, athletic tight end with a great amount of upside. Easily moves about the field, offers the quarterback a massive target and extends to make receptions away from his frame. Quickly releases into pass routes, fluid and effortlessly makes the deep reception in stride. Carries defenders for yards at a clip running after the catch. Gives effort blocking and turns defenders from the action. Large enough to engulf opponents as a blocker and also is effective on the second level.
Negative: Displays a limited burst and not a true downfield threat. Must improve his blocking strength and balance to finish off opponents.
Analysis: Williams flashed brilliance last season looking like a man amongst boys at times but is still rough around the edges. He possesses the size, athleticism and upside potential to develop into a number one tight end at the next level but he may hit a few bumps along the road.
