Eric Tomlinson

School: UTEP
Position: TE
Bio: Two-year starter who posted career numbers of 30 receptions for 304 yards and 2013. Struggled with injury throughout his senior career.
Positive: Well-sized tight end best as a blocker. Strong at the point, stays square and gets after assignments. Plays with a nasty attitude, turns defenders from the point and opens up running lanes. Sets with a wide base, bends his knees and plays with leverage. Explosive at the point and displays good initial power. Fluid releasing off the line of scrimmage and makes the difficult catch with defenders draped on him. Extends and catches passes away from his frame.
Negative: One-speed tight end only effective a few yards from the line of scrimmage. Average athlete with limited upside.
Analysis: Tomlinson is a terrific blocker and plays like a sixth offensive lineman. He has the size and enough skill to make it as a third tight end.
