Connor Hamlett

School: Oregon State
Position: TE
Bio: Moved into the starting line up as a sophomore. Senior totals included 32 receptions, 342 yards and 2 TDs after career-best 40/364/5 the prior year.
Positive: Large, relatively athletic tight end who flashes next-level ability. Plays with quickness, nicely makes receptions in stride and easily adjusts to errant throws. Makes the difficult catch with opponents draped on him, lays out or extends for receptions and offers the quarterback a big target. Displays both soft and strong hands as well as good focus and concentration. Bends his knees, stays square and works blocks.
Negative: Does not play to his athletic numbers or block to his size. Solid speed but does not stretch the seam. Not overwhelming at the point of attack run blocking. Average production at Oregon State.
Analysis: For three years running Hamlett showed flashes of next-level ability but never truly elevated his game or took the next step. He offers the size and speed to develop into a #2 TE at the next level but must start to show consistent production.
