Casey Pierce

School: Kent State
Position: TE
Bio: Two-year starter awarded All-conference honors as a senior when he led Kent State with 60 receptions, 641 receiving yards and 6 TDs.
Positive: Athletically impressive tight end with a developing game. Nimble, quick and fast. Immediately releases off the line into pass routes, outruns opponents and nicely makes receptions in contorted positions. Occasionally lined up in the slot, works to come free and adjusts to errant throws. Looks the ball into his hands and displays strength running after the catch. Stays square as a blocker, where he's explosive and technically sound.
Negative: Does not catch the ball cleanly and unnecessarily lets passes get inside him, which leads to drops. Lacks dominant blocking strength and size.
Analysis: Pierce has the physical skills to become the downfield threat NFL teams want in a tight end but must polish his game, improve his hands and get stronger as a blocker.
