Tyrus Thompson

School: Oklahoma
Position: T
Bio: Full-time starter the past two seasons, winning all-conference honors as a senior. Primarily lined up at left tackle though he did see action on the right side as a sophomore.
Positive: Underrated pass protecting tackle who shows ability blocking in motion. Plays with quickness, stays square and controls defenders at the point. Explosive, easily slides off the edge and displays better than average blocking range. Keeps his feet moving, knocks defenders back with violent hand punch and plays with quickness. Quick out to the second level displaying the ability to adjust to linebackers, knocking them from their angle of attack. Keeps his head on a swivel and always looking for someone to hit.
Negative: Must make better use of blocking angles. Narrow based in his setup.
Analysis: Thompson possesses the size, footwork and strength necessary to eventually develop into a starting left tackle in the NFL.
