Jaquiski Tartt

School: Samford
Position: S
Bio: Three-year starter awarded All-America and all-conference honors since his sophomore season. Senior totals included 62 tackles and 1 PBU when he struggled through the season with injury. Junior numbers included 98 tackles after 94 as a sophomore.
Positive: Athletic safety with good size and a versatile game. Quick up the field defending the run. Displays a closing burst and explosive at the point. Remains disciplined with assignments in centerfield, gets depth on pass drops and moves well laterally. Works well with cornerbacks. Quick locating the ball and fast pursuing the action.
Negative: Indecisive in coverage. Inefficient and takes too many steps to the action. Does not always take proper angles to the play.
Analysis: Tartt is a physical specimen who's been a dominant run defender while showing ability in coverage. He comes with tremendous upside and if coached properly could eventually break into a starting lineup.
