Jacob Hagen

School: Liberty
Position: S
Bio: Three-year starter awarded All-America and all-conference honors the past two seasons. Senior totals included 108 tackles, 8 INTs and 7 PBUs after 61 tackles and six interceptions the prior year.
Positive: Tough, hard-hitting safety best in the short field. Efficient, takes good angles to the action and quick getting to the ballhandler. Instinctive, remains disciplined with assignments and displays a sense of timing. Effectively reads receivers eyes then gets his head back around to track the pass. Tough run defender.
Negative: Lacks deep speed and a liability in center-field coverage. Lacks a quick closing burst. Does not show the ability to quickly get outside the numbers to the flanks.
Analysis: Hagen displayed a terrific head for the ball in both run defense and pass coverage and could be useful as a traditional strong safety or in a zone system.
