Thomas Rawls

School: Central Michigan
Position: RB
Bio: All-conference selection in 2014 after posting a career-best 1103 yards and 10 TDs in six starts. Missed four games last season with a knee injury.
Positive: Nice sized, downhill runner just hitting his stride. Strong, breaks tackles and rarely brought down by a single defender. Falls forward when tackled and consistently finds ways to pick up the extra yardage. Patient, waits for blocks develop and displays both vision as well as running instincts. Solid short-area quickness with the ability to make defenders miss. Runs good routes as a pass catcher. Sees the blitz and picks up blocking assignments. Strong blocker getting a pad on defenders and disrupting their angle of attack.
Negative: Lacks great perimeter speed and slow getting around the corner. Gets into trouble trying to run East/West. Marginally productive as a pass catcher.
Analysis: Rawls is a late bloomer with solid size/speed numbers and upside potential. He has definite possibilities on an active roster this fall if he plays well on special teams during camp.
