David Cobb

School: Minnesota
Position: RB
Bio: Two-year starter who led Minnesota in rushing since 2013. Totals last year included 1626 yards rushing and 13 TDs.
Positive: Instinctive, hard-charging ball carrier with a versatile game. Displays outstanding vision and awareness, consistently finds the open creases and runs North/South. Keeps his feet moving on contact, breaks arm tackles to pick up yardage off initial contact while also displaying the ability to bounce around piles. Strong, agile and finds ways to create yardage. Sees the blitz, squares into defenders and meets them head-on.
Negative: More of a one-speed runnrer who struggles beating defenders into the open field. Not a true receiving threat out of the backfield.
Analysis: Coming into the season Cobb was barely mentioned by NFL scouts despite his terrific junior campaign. And though he may lack the great next level measurables he possesses the football skills and wherewithal necessary to be a productive rotational back.
