Garrett Safron

School: Sacramento State
Position: QB
Bio: Three-year starter awarded all-conference honors the past two seasons. Senior totals included 3490 yards passing with 34 TDs after 3289 yards passing and 13 TDs as a junior.
Positive: Small but instinctive quarterback with limited physical skills. Effectively controls the offense, knows where his receivers are and puts touch on throws when necessary. Sells ball fakes, displays a sense of timing on throws and shows the ability to get outside the pocket then make the pass on the move. Escapes the rush, picks up yardage with his legs and to his credit consistently makes proper choices.
Negative: Possesses average arm strength and cannot power the ball through the tight spots or drive deep passes. Does not consistently release the ball with proper footwork, which adversely affects his accuracy. Struggles hitting targets down the field.
Analysis: Safron was incredibly productive on the college level but was more a product of the system and lacks the size as well as the arm strength for the NFL.
