Cole Farrand

School: Maryland
Position: ILB
Bio: Three-year starter and multiple All-academic award recipient. Led Maryland with 118 tackles last season while also breaking up seven passes.
Positive: Tough, instinctive linebacker with marginal upside for the next level. Fires up the field filling gaps in run defense and wraps up when tackling. Breaks down well, chases the action hard and flows well laterally. Slides off blocks to get to the ball carrier. Takes good angles to the play and efficient.
Negative: Possesses limited skill in coverage. Does not play to his forty time and possesses just a short burst of speed that he cannot sustain.
Analysis: Farrand is a hard-working defender and does a terrific job reading the action then making the play. He comes with limited athleticism but could make a roster as an eighth linebacker/special teams player.
