Melvin Meggs

School: South Alabama
Position: G
Bio: Three-year starter who set out the 2013 campaign with a knee injury. Lined up at left tackle for South Alabama.
Positive: Underrated college tackle who projects to guard at the next level. Explosive at the point, keeps his feet moving and shows the ability to slide in space. Plays with good lean, stays square and redirects or adjusts to defenders. Makes good use of angles, body positioning and steers defenders from the play with a jolt of his hands. Quick out to the second level, shows ability blocking in motion and gets a pad on linebackers to knock them from the play. Keeps his head on a swivel and works well with linemates.
Negative: More of a finesse blocker and struggles finishing off opponents. Must improve his run blocking.
Analysis: Meggs is a blocker who has flown under the radar since his freshman season but has all the necessary skill to line up as a zone-blocking guard on Sunday.
