La'el Collins

School: LSU
Position: G
Bio: Three-year starter who's lined up at left tackle the past two seasons after spending his sophomore campaign at left guard. All-conference selection since his junior season and awarded the Jacobs Blocking Trophy in 2014, handed to the top offensive lineman in the SEC.
Positive: Athletic offensive line prospect with a tremendous upside. Fires off the snap, explodes into blocks and plays with a nasty attitude. Jolts defenders with tremendous hand punch, strong at the point and gets movement run blocking. Keeps his feet moving in pass protection, bends his knees and can slide off the edge. Quick out to the second level and effective blocking in motion.
Negative: Must improve his blocking balance. Overextends and does not always play with good body control. Average pass protector and occasionally gets walked back into the pocket.
Analysis: Collins is a physically gifted lineman who was terrific on the college level and comes with upside. He must improve the consistency of his blocking fundamentals and though a left tackle at LSU, he's probably better off as a zone-blocking guard on Sundays.
