A J Cann

School: South Carolina
Position: G
Bio: Four-year starter named to numerous all-America teams as a senior.
Positive: Tough, slug-it-out lineman best in a small area. Works to get leverage on opponents, jolts defenders with tremendous hand punch and gets movement run blocking. Quick off the snap, drives defenders from the line and finishes blocks. Plays with good lean, pad level and keeps his head on a swivel. Controls defenders in pass protection and rarely gives up an inch.
Negative: Overextends into blocks and bends at the waist. Ineffective blocking in motion and not quick pulling across the line of scrimmage. Must do a better job positioning his hands into opponents.
Analysis: Cann is a powerhouse offensive guard best playing in a phone booth. His game s a bit one-dimensional, but he offers starting potential in a run-oriented offense.
