Jordan Phillips

School: Oklahoma
Position: DT
Bio: Started 13 games last season and awarded all-conference honors after totaling 39 tackles, seven tackles for loss and two sacks. Played four games the prior year before having his season ended with a back injury.
Positive: King-sized nose tackle prospect with above average athleticism. Fires off the snap with a quick first step, displays solid movement skills and the ability to make plays up the field or laterally. Takes up a lot of space, powerful and barrels through double-team blocks to get behind the line of scrimmage. Easily holds his ground and does not give up an inch to blockers.
Negative: Displays little in the way of hand technique or the ability to get off blocks. Does not consistently play with proper pad level. Moderately productive in college and has a shallow body of work.
Analysis: From the point of view of upside potential, Phillips grades highly as he's a prospect who could be a tremendous player in the future. He offers possibilities as a playmaking nose tackle but must improve the nuances of his position, learn to play with leverage and stay healthy to meet his potential.
